THE HYGEN SERIES FOR CARRIER GASES AND AS FUEL FOR FID, NPD, FPD AND ATF DETECTOR FLAMES
The significant increase in demand for disinfectants – driven unfortunately by the current international health crisis – has led major producers to focus on products based on ethanol (the most common ethyl alcohol) and isopropyl alcohol, generally used as a skin disinfectant.
Laboratory tests are increasingly proportionally with production, aiming to ensure an alcohol percentage above 60%, to guarantee the effectiveness of the product against major pathogens and, above all, against Covid-19.
Gas chromatography therefore holds a strategic position, as the main ingredients of alcohol-based hand sanitizers are volatile alcohol compounds including ethanol, methanol and isopropanol.
In this context, the HyGen series of hydrogen generators play a key role, both in the performance of ex-ante tests (e.g. impurity screening) and in the ex-post analyses needed to ensure conformity to the guidelines issued by the distributing bodies.
HyGen 200, 400 and 600 were designed specifically for carrier gases and as a fuel for gas chromatography flames for hydrocarbon detection, and guarantee hydrogen generation proportional to consumption and Ultra High Purity functional to trace analysis requirements.
