For food & beverage industry, Claind offers Flo, Pico, Maxi and Tivano nitrogen generators, able to reach very high purities as a Nitrogen Food Grade E941.
APPLICATIONS
- Liquid foods
- Food packaging
- Wine
- Mineral water
- Drinks serving
- PET
- Inertisation of tanks (for fruit juice, wine, etc.) and dissolved oxygen exorption by nitrogen insufflation in bottling lines (water, fruit juice, wine, oil, milk)
- Agitation and stirring (wine, etc.) and filtration
- Transfer of liquid foods from tanks and pipes
- Liquid movement and transport
- Bottling
Fields of application
◦Wine
◦Fruit juice
◦Vegetable oils
◦Milk and milk derivatives
Solutions
Claind’s solutions for this sector are based on Flo, Pico e Maxi nitrogen generators, and fully satisfy the needs of customers using nitrogen for protected atmospheres. Claind’s nitrogen generators can be combined with other components to create specific plant solutions on a case by case basis.
Protective or modified atmosphere packaging systems maintain an atmosphere inside the package that minimises the time for which the product remains in contact with gases that could alter its state. This atmosphere is normally nitrogen or a mix of nitrogen and other gases.
The benefits of protective atmosphere packaging are:
- extended shelf life
- improved product appearance
- long lasting flavour and aroma
Fields of application
◦Dairy products and milk derivatives
◦Meats and dried meats
◦Pastas
◦Coffee
◦Vegetable and fruit products (range IV)
Solutions
Claind’s solutions for this sector, based on Flo, Pico e Maxi nitrogen generators, fully satisfy the needs of customers using nitrogen for protected atmospheres. Typical examples are the production of nitrogen in centralised systems serving an entire factory (even for other uses) and providing an alternative source of supply to more traditional forms (liquid or cylinder gas).
For many years Claind has been a much appreciated partner to grape growers and wine makers. Our vast experience has enabled us to offer a number of plant solutions specifically tailored to the needs of individual wine makers and to their production methods in every phase of the vinification process: the Flo, Pico, Maxi and Tivano series.
Applications in the field of red wines
- Homogenisation by nitrogen insufflation.
- Pressure transfer from one tank to another and air removal
- Remounting of red wine musts with nitrogen during fermentation
- Storage, decanting and transfers
Applications in the field of white wines
- Pressing
- Filtration
- Inertisation of tanks and barrels
- Clarification
- Barrel filling
- Bottling
Solutions
- Nitrogen generation from a centralised system serving the entire factory (even for other purposes)
- Solutions combined and integrated with packaging machinery
- Plant solutions involving mixtures of CO2 with nitrogen
Non-fizzy drinks made without the stabilising effect of CO2 require an external system for creating pressure inside the package.
By injecting gaseous phase nitrogen into the system saturator, problems of alteration can be avoided, and the necessary pressure guaranteed without spoiling the flavour.
Solution
Solutions for these systems are very simple and require only the installation of Flo, Pico e Maxi nitrogen generators capable of delivering a continuous flow of low pressure gas for use on board the packaging machine.
Benefits
- Simplified logistics and gas provisioning
- Elimination of liquid gas storage
- No gas cylinder handling
- Uninterrupted production, 24 hours a day
- Purity levels suitable for the application
The retail serving of drinks liable to spoil in the presence of oxygen, such as wine, beer and fruit juices, has led to an explosion in demand for nitrogen generators. Pressurised nitrogen is used to expel the drink from the barrels in which it is kept without contamination by contact with the oxygen in the air.
Solution
Claind has developed a dedicated solution for serving drinks, based on the Tivano.
Tivano nitrogen generators can be wall mounted in the cellars of pubs and restaurants, and combined with a small accumulator to maintain a constant pressure in the wine, beer, and juice lines without staff having to change cylinders.
The system can also be combined with a mixer (integrated inside the appliance) to deliver various mixes of CO2 and nitrogen if such mixes are required by certain drinks.
Benefits
- Drastic reduction in nitrogen gas provisioning costs
- Elimination of gas cylinders and safety related problems
- No more interruptions in serving at peak times
- No need to bleed oxygen out of the drinks lines
- More nitrogen available for pipe cleaning
PET
Just as PET blow moulding is now often performed directly at the bottling line, so preformed bottle blowing is also more and more often done immediately prior to bottling.
Solution
Solutions for these systems are very simple and require only the installation of Flo, Pico e Maxi capable of delivering a continuous flow of low pressure gas to inertise the plastic material during the extrusion phase.
Benefits
- Simplified logistics and gas provisioning
- Elimination of liquid gas storage
- No gas cylinder handling
- Uninterrupted production, 24 hours a day
- Purity levels suitable for the application
